A friend of mine adopted a little girl from China when she was almost a year old. The first time I met her, not only was she the cutest thing I had ever seen with her chubby little cheeks, but she was wearing a pair of adorable squeaky shoes that made me laugh! I was smitten immediately with both the little girl, Madison Claire (pictured below), and the shoes.
When my own "Claire Bear" was over a year old, she was not pulling up to a standing position or bearing weight. As a Speech Pathologist who specializes in stuttering (but now stay-at-home mom), I was familiar with milestones and knew she should be pulling up by now and at least attempting to walk. I remembered the shoes and bought her a pair hoping that they would encourage her to stand and step in order to hear them “squeak”.
It worked immediately. Claire would pull up on our coffee table and go
side-to side (like a pendulum) over and over again. She would get so excited that she would clap for herself, fall down, and do it again....and again....and again...... Within two weeks, Claire was walking.
However, we received much more than we bargained for.
I also had a two-year-old "shoe lover" as well and knew that I had to purchase a pair for her in order to stop any fights before they started.
Once Alexis (my 2-year-old) put them on her feet, she refused to take them off! She wore them with every outfit, matching or not for many weeks.
She never seemed to get tired of them (although I did at times, but I figured out how to disable them when in church or at mothers-day-out.....see
info about shoes).
After my Mom saw Alexis happily dancing in them, she laughingly called them Alexis' SQUEAKER SNEAKERS… and the rest is history.
My Mom became my partner in this crazy venture and here we are today. We are proud to offer you our high quality shoes with fun designs and hope your "little one" enjoys the shoes as much as we do.
